Mumbai Recently, veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away due to cardiac arrest in Goa. Actor and talk show host Shekhar Suman has decided to cancel the last episode of his show Shekhar Tonight after this tragic incident. He also paid tribute to Nana Patekar. Shekhar Suman has announced that after Nana’s demise on 8 October, he has decided not to air the last episode of his show, as Nana Patekar was going to be the last guest of the show. After his demise, Shekhar thought it best to cancel the episode instead of calling another celebrity in his place, as he believes that no one can replace Nana. Shekhar Suman remembered Nana Patekar by sharing an emotional video on his YouTube channel. He said, words fall short to praise the artistes and actors appearing in this episode. Fearless, brave, honest, a man whose simplicity was his greatest virtue. Shekhar told that Nana Patekar himself had expressed his desire to come on his show. Congratulating him, Nana said that he watches his show regularly and sees his own image in him.
Shekhar recalled Nana’s words, he said, I get offers from many shows, I don’t go anywhere, but I want to come on your show. It felt as if I had received the Padma Vibhushan. This experience was very special and honorable for Shekhar. Shekhar Suman also talked about his long association and personal relationship with Nana Patekar. He recalled working with the late actor in Sohanlal Kanwar’s 1990 film Tadap. Although the film never released, Shekhar said that the project gave him the opportunity to know Nana personally. He said, “During that time, I got to know him personally. I learned a lot from him as a person and as an actor. Sadly, the film was completed but could not be released. Shekhar expressed his deep sorrow that just as the film Tadap could not reach the audience, in the same way this episode shot with Nana Patekar would also never reach the audience.
He said, I will be sad about this for the rest of my life. This conversation with him would have been the most beautiful. Concluding his speech, Shekhar said, Nana has gone away from us forever. Nana, we love you and will always miss you. Today I did not feel like calling anyone else because no one can take his place. No one can fill his place. He lived his life on his own terms. I had also decided my starting points for this episode. “I want to end our first season with memories of them.” Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 due to cardiac arrest at his home in Goa on Thursday morning. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors tried to save him, but could not succeed.
