New Delhi. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has intensified its preparations to hold a fresh peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital. In this series, many party leaders under the leadership of party co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka and chief spokesperson Saurav Das reached Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi on Monday. He has demanded the police administration to fix a fixed date and time for the demonstration at Jantar Mantar as soon as possible. Party leaders have made it clear that they want to express their views in a peaceful manner and the police have been given 24 hours for this.

24 hour ultimatum given to police

Before reaching Parliament Street Police Station, co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka had shared information about this complete outline through social media platform X. Party leaders say that if Delhi Police does not give permission and date for the demonstration within the stipulated time frame, then the Cockroach Janata Party itself will announce further protests at its level. CJP’s chief spokesperson Saurav Das said that usually the police asks to apply 10 days in advance for permission to protest, but now the party has left the option to the police to fix a date and time in the next 24 hours, so that the protest can be registered within the democratic ambit.

The detention and release of leaders has happened before as well.

It is noteworthy that before the proposed protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Delhi Police had taken CJP leaders Abhijeet Deepke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka into precautionary custody. However, an executive magistrate court in Delhi later ordered the release of the three leaders. According to the legal side of the party, at the time of release, the court had given instructions not to affect law and order for one year, but the party leaders have made it clear that their struggle has not stopped.

‘Will continue the protest by taking to the streets’

Responding to this entire incident, CJP’s Abhijeet Deepke has also made his intentions clear. He has made it clear by posting on social media that he has not signed any surety or bond in which there is a ban on holding protests in future. He bluntly said that they will once again take to the streets to press for their demands, which indicates that despite administrative and legal restrictions, the party’s stance is not going to soften.
