Before IPL 2027, the Punjab Kings team has suffered a big setback. The franchise’s fielding coach Brad Haddin and fast bowling coach James Hopes have resigned from their posts. Both these veterans recently informed the management about their decision, after which the team will have to search for a new coaching staff before the upcoming season.

Main reason for resignation of coaches

The reason behind the sudden withdrawal of former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin and former fast bowler James Hopes is believed to be their new responsibilities in the Big Bash League (BBL). James Hopes is considered very close to head coach Ricky Ponting, who joined him from Delhi Capitals to Punjab Kings some time ago. Apart from these two, Sairaj Bahutule also left the team soon after the last season.

Ricky Ponting will be responsible for choosing new options

After the departure of the assistant coaches, now the big responsibility of preparing the new support staff has fallen on the shoulders of Punjab Kings head coach Ricky Ponting. According to reports, the franchise management is in constant touch with Ponting and the new coaching options are expected to be finalized before the IPL mini auction to be held in mid-December.
