New Delhi. On Monday, the first trading day of the week, a big fall in the prices of gold and silver was recorded in the Indian Futures Market (MCX). On MCX, gold became cheaper by Rs 747 per 10 grams to Rs 150752, while the price of silver also fell by Rs 555 per kg to Rs 225200. This decline has come at a time when a slight increase in gold and silver is being seen in the international markets. Global tensions and increase in US bond yields are being considered the main reasons for this decline. In the international market, the rate of gold on Comex was trading at $ 4231 per ounce with an increase of 0.35 percent, while silver was also trading at $ 61 an ounce with an increase of 0.54 percent. Despite this, the decline in the domestic futures market has surprised investors. There is not much difference in the price of 24 carat gold in major cities across the country today. In Delhi, 24 carat gold is available at Rs 15,156 per gram, while 22 carat gold is available at Rs 13,894 per gram. In cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Kerala, the price of 24 carat gold is around Rs 15,141 per gram and the price of 22 carat gold is around Rs 13,879 per gram. Prices are also slightly different in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, where 24 carat gold is at Rs 15,146 per gram. Silver prices have also shown fluctuations in the past few days. The price of 999 pure silver recently stood at Rs 2,21,109 per kg, whereas a day before that it had closed at Rs 2,17,106 per kg and before that at Rs 2,22,866. According to experts, the increasing tension between America and Iran, movement of the dollar, expectations regarding interest rates in America and increasing uncertainty at the global level have affected investor sentiment. Apart from this, the rise seen in US bonds is also putting pressure on gold prices, which has affected the demand for gold as a safe investment.
