New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has made such a scary and shocking revelation related to his life, which has shocked the entire cricket world. Chahal recalled a horrifying incident that happened during the 2013 IPL, when he was a part of the Mumbai Indians team and had attended a party organized by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru, when a drunk foreign player hanged him upside down from the balcony of the 15th floor of the hotel. Recalling that fatal moment, Chahal said that he felt as if he had got a second life.
The players narrowly escaped with their lives and were terrified.
During a conversation with former cricketer Aakash Chopra, Chahal made it clear that the player was not Andrew Symonds or James Franklin, but another strong and muscular foreign player. That player suddenly picked up Chahal and hung him upside down in the air outside the balcony.
Describing that horrifying scene, Chahal said, I was holding her neck tightly with all my strength to save my life. At that time, the breathing of all the other players and guests present in the room had stopped. When the situation started going completely out of control, the other people present there immediately came running and somehow pulled him out to safety. Even after committing such a dangerous and deadly act, the player was laughing, whereas Chahal was badly frightened by that incident.
No complaint due to young age and lack of experience
Yuzvendra Chahal told that at that time he was quite young and inexperienced, and his entire focus was only on his cricket career, so he decided not to file any formal complaint regarding this matter. However, this incident raises many serious questions on the security protocols and mutual behavior of the players in the initial days of IPL.
Chahal, who has baffled big batsmen with his excellent bowling and spin on the field and has made the record of taking the highest number of 233 wickets in IPL history, has always been known for his lively personality. This old incident shared by him can now spark a new debate on the norms of safety, discipline and mutual decorum of players in the sports world.
