Mumbai . On the occasion of completion of ten years in the Bollywood film industry, actress Saiyami Kher has revealed the bitter truth of her journey so far. Sharing her experiences, Saiyami said that when she entered the industry, she was a quiet and introverted girl from Nashik, who did not know much about the world of films.
Despite this, many people had judged and rejected him even before he got a chance to prove himself. Recalling her early experiences, Saiyami said, when I first reached the film sets, I was around 20 years old. The last 10 years have been full of the biggest transformative experiences of my life. At that time I was an introvert girl from Nashik, who was unaware of the world of films. Despite this, I was rejected in the beginning itself with the belief that perhaps I was not made for this industry. She further said, I was even told that I look like a village girl and I do not have the ability to become an actress.
Not only this, I was also given such advice to move ahead in the industry, which was not easy for me to listen to. Some people advised to date an actor or director, because this is an easy way to enter the industry. Apart from this, I was even advised to undergo cosmetic surgery and lip job. A big turning point in Saiyami’s career came when one day he got a call from Adoor Mukherjee and he told him that Dilip Shankar would test him. This occasion was different from other occasions. He did workshops with Dilip Shankar and Adil Hussain for about three months, which proved to be life changing for him. During this time, he learned to be himself, to be truthful and honest in his work and to trust himself. About six months later, he was finalized for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film Mirzya.
Saiyami made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Mirzya, in which she was seen opposite Harshvardhan Kapoor. Saiyami described the experience of working with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra as one of the most special parts of her career. He said, Rakesh sir was exactly the kind of person I needed at that time. He gave me the freedom to express myself as an artist and taught me to love acting. He loved me like his child. Saiyami told that her upbringing and the confidence she got from her parents did not let her be broken by such things. Many times he would laugh instead of getting angry after hearing such things.
